The next phase of getting back to normal squash involves the club allowing match play under the Irish Squash protocols as approved by Sports Ireland.
You and up to 5 others can create a 'pod' of players with whom you can do routines and or play regular squash matches. The idea is that these pods allow matches while at the same time limiting the number of players with whom you come into contact. If you are interested in returning to squash please let us know in which type of pod (below) you wish to be included. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CAN GO ON COURT ONLY WITH THE MEMBERS OF YOUR POD. (The POD system also means that you should play in one club only). Household members can continue to go on court together for matches or routines.
It may seem strange but if you wish to play solo only you'll need to make a friendly pod of just one - you.
In the case of the Competition Pods the Club Captain - Andy Fynn - will use rankings or his best estimate to divide players into groups of 5 or 6 for competitive matches. You can play matches or do routines with the other players in you pod and some of your matches will count towards your results. These will be you squash partners for the duration.
If you prefer the Friendly Pods we will supply the names of the others who are similarly interested and who may be looking for fellow pod members. You will then need to contact some of them as you wish so that you can tell us who comprises your pod. These will be you squash partners for the duration.
All Pods will last for 8 weeks (until Nov. 2).
